Ginko Biloba
Ginkgo biloba is derived from the world's oldest living
species of trees and is one of the most important plant based
medecine available.
Ginkgo is an important part of mainstream medecine in Europe
where it is widely used as a mental and vascular stimulant and
a powerful protector of the brain, liver, eyes and circulatory
system.
In fact in France most people over the age of 50ish are
routinely prescribed Ginkgo biloba (Tanakan brand) by
conventional mainstream physicians, to protect and promote
memory and mental function. It has numerous benefits which stem
from the greater flow of blood.
It
can:
-stabilise irregular heart rhythm
-help men to sustain erections
-ease numbness and pain of intermittent claudication
-tinnitus
-dizziness
-asthma
-headaches
-PMS
-retinopathy
-macular degeneration
-cataracts
-depression
-perimenopause
German urologists have found Ginkgo biloba a good treatment
for male impotence. The herb stimulated blood flow through
penile arteries, promoting erections. Researchers found 78% of
fifty men suffering from 'arterial erectile impotence' improved
after taking 240mg of standardised Ginkgo biloba extract for 9
months. Blood flow to penile arteries generally improved after
3 months and twenty men regained erections after 6 months
As with all herbs, although it has an excellent safety
record, some takers do have side effects.Occasionally very mild
and reversible side-effects, such as upset stomach and
headaches and rarely insomnia have been reported. If dizziness
occurs, start with a lower dose of ginkgo biloba and build up
to the recommended dose gradually.
Products used should be standardised to contain at least 24%
concentration of flavonglycosides, the plant's active
ingredient and the therapeutic range is from 160-360mg a day
preferably in divided doses, of ginkgo biloba .
